From Workshop to Living Room
Abyadina Home works directly with small workshops in Rajasthan and Gujarat. Each stage of the journey, from sourcing raw materials to the final quality check, follows a set rhythm that keeps the craft honest and the delivery predictable.
2016 — First Workshop Visit
We began by spending three weeks in Sanganer, documenting how block printers prepare teak blocks and mix natural dyes. That first trip shaped our sourcing rules: no middlemen, direct payments to artisans, and a minimum order that respects their pace.
2018 — Ceramic Tableware Line
After two years of selling textiles, we added hand-thrown ceramic plates and bowls from a potter's studio near Bhuj. The glazes react differently in each kiln batch, so we learned to describe those variations honestly instead of hiding them.
2020 — Woven Storage Collection
We partnered with weavers in West Bengal who use locally sourced grasses and natural dyes. The baskets are built for daily use, not just display. We tested them for a full season before listing them, checking how they hold up under weight and humidity.
2022 — Brass Accents and Wall Hangings
Our brass pieces come from a small foundry in Jaipur that still uses lost-wax casting. The wall hangings are woven on handlooms in Gujarat. Both categories required longer lead times, so we introduced clear production windows on every product page.
2024 — Direct-to-Consumer Shipping
We moved fulfillment in-house to cut delivery times and reduce packaging waste. Every order now ships with a note about the specific workshop and the artisan who made the piece. Returns are handled within seven days, no questions asked.
2025 — Makers' Stories on Every Page
Each product now includes a short profile of the workshop behind it, with photos and a description of the making process. We want buyers to know exactly whose hands shaped the object they are bringing into their home.
